Muschu Island is located in the East Sepik province of Papua New Guinea and lies just off the coast of the town of Wewak. As was much of the area during WWII the island played a large role hosting mainly Japanese soldiers before their surrender. After their surrender, the Australian army used the island for a short time as a prison for POW's.
