AF-005 Cape Verde Leeward Islands (aka Sotavento)

The Sotavento Islands (literally, the Leeward) is the southern island group of the Cape Verde archipelago, an independent state that lies off the Atlantic Coast of northwest Africa. Its population of around 540,000 is mostly of mixed European, Moorish, Arab and African heritage, and predominantly Roman Catholic, reflecting the legacy of Portuguese rule.
