The Medvezhyi Islands are located about 100 kilometres (62 mi) to the north of the mouths of the Kolyma River. The coast of Siberia is about 35 kilometres (22 mi) to the southwest of the largest island, which is about 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) km long.
